Prof. Runa Sarkar has been working and publishing in the field of sustainability and corporate environmental behavior for over a decade. She, along with Prof. Anup Sinha of IIM Calcutta, is the co-author of a book titled Another Development: Participation, Empowerment and Well-being, published by Routledge in early 2015. Forthcoming is a short book on Environment Business and Institutions in India to Oxford, to be published as part of the OISI series. She is interested in market based solutions to environmental issues and is chairperson of the board of CTran and an independent director on the board of Bhartiya Samruddhi Investments and Consulting Services (BASICS Ltd.) and Basix Consulting and Technology Services, leading environmental and development oriented social enterprises. Runa has been a sustainability assessor for CII. She was involved in developing agropedia, a knowledge management platform for agriculture. She has co-edited the India Infrastructure Report (IIR) 2010 on Infrastructure Development in a Low Carbon Economy and IIR 2009 on Land – A Critical Resource for Infrastructure, published by the 3i network and Oxford.
