Prof. Dr. T.N. Balasubramanian got his Ph.D in Agronomy from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore and subsequently got trained in the science of agricultural meteorology and climatology, both from National and International levels.
He served at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University for 38 years and six months in agricultural education, agricultural research and agricultural extension. He has guided more than 10 students each in Ph.D and M. Sc (Ag). He is the author for more than four books and contributed many chapters to the books. He has published more than 100 research articles both in National and International journals. He is a specialist in crop production and climatology.
After his retirement, he was the consultant to MSSRF, Chennai for five years on running one research - extension project on climate change.
Presently, he is a consultant to Agro-Climate Research Centre, TNAU Coimbatore and Emami farms at Aruppukkottai, Tamil Nadu.
He is a member in the editorial board of Journal of Agricultural Meteorology, published from GAU, Anand.
